MODEL PPK SEMI-AUTOMATIC PISTOL. Cal. 7.65mm. S# 302785K. Bbl. 3 1/4". PPK semi-automatic pistol mfg. by Walther in 1941. According to "SS Contract Walther PP/PPK Contract Variations & Serial Numbers", by Thomas Whiteman, the highest recorded S# within the 7th SS contract is "302279K", with this example being just 506 S#s away. The left side of the slide is marked with the Walther banner logo, followed by markings stipulating Walther's mfg. information, as well as the model and cal. designations. Left side of slide is also lightly etched "MM/ #1", with "MM #1" faintly etched on the spine of the mag. Right side of the frame (on chamber), slide, and bbl. exhibit a German Eagle/N commercial nitro proof. Metal components exhibit a blue finish overall, save for on the chamber, which is polished in-the-white. Frame is mounted with a 1-piece checkered mottled brown synthetic wrap around grip. Slide features a matte grooved rib, with a fixed blade front sight and fixed U-notch rear sight. Interior of slide matches the frame via "785", which is lightly etched parallel to the ejection port. MAGS: 1 7-rd. CONDITION: metal components retain the majority of their original factory blue finish, exhibiting some spots of light to mild wear and thinning (primarily on edges), some superficial handling marks, as well as some spots of light surface oxidation overall. Mirror bore, retaining well defined rifling throughout. Grip shows some warping, as well as scattered superficial marks from handling and storage, but otherwise remains sturdy and serviceable. (25-2380/MLW). CURIO. $1,000-1,500.
