HERO'S OF THE INDIAN MUTINY IN STAFFORDSHIRE. An interesting pair of equestrian Staffordshire figures. These mounted figures are of Sir Colin Campbell, 10.75" high and General Henry Havelock. Havelock was the first to reach Lucknow during the mutiny, and Campbell rescued his encircled forces. Lucknow was the scene of the worst atrocities against the British during the mutiny, and also the scene of some of the worst atrocities against native Indians by the British. Both figures are very brightly painted in polychrome. Campbell has some loss of black paint of hair on back of head, Havelock is excellent.
