Washington DC physician who was Vice President of the American Medical Association, and an early aviation inventor. He founded the American Association of Aeronautical Engineers and was the 1912 patentee of the “Safety Aeroplane” and the “Ship and Aeroplane Compass and Inclinometer.” DS, 1p, 21"x16½", Washington, May 16, 1889. Gold foil seal intact. A Washington Training School for Nurses diploma on vellum awarded to Ella Margaret Snowden. Boldly signed twice as Dean of the faculty and as Secretary of the society. Also signed by seven other physicians. General light creasing and wrinkling; light toning; minor chipping at top edge; o/w VG. A scarce aviation signature.</span></p>

1. Auction Catalogue No. 19 is a Mail, Fax, Phone, Email and
Internet Live Bid Auction and is conducted under the laws of the State
of West Virginia by Gil Griggs, Licensee of Charleston, W. V. License
No. 002.
2. Absentee bid closing date is April 5th, 2002, 10:00 PM EST.
3. There is a 15% Buyer’s Premium charged on the final hammer price
of each lot. An additional 2½% Premium will be added to any lots
purchased through ebayliveauctions.com.
4. The Auctioneer reserves the right to reject any bid for any
reason.

6. In the event of duplicate high bids, the earliest bid received
will be the winner.
