Mounted and bound in four volumes, the first three volumes follow the Earl from his boyhood at Eaton and Oxford through his rise in political power, with letters written by some of the most important personages in Victorian England in the areas of politics, religions, and arts and letters. A correspondence worthy of significant research, with letters by the following individuals, in small part: VICTORIA, RAGLAND SOMERSET, WILLIAM GULL, FREDERICK SLEIGH ROBERTS, VITA SACKVILLE-WEST, HILLAIRE BELLOC, EDWARD COLERIDGE, LORD STANHOPE, RODERICH MURCHISON, LORD SHAFTSBURY, CHARLES KINGSLEY, LOUIS-PHILIPPE, RICHARD CONGREVE, ARCHBISHOP TATE, LORD GRANVILLE, A.
