<b>91. HENRY “HECK” THOMAS</b>
<hr align=left size=5 width=33% color=#778899>(1850-1912). One of the Wild West’s most effective lawmen who apprehended many notorious outlaws including members of the Doolin gang, the Daltons, and the Sam Bass gang. Partly printed DS “<i>Heck Thomas</i>” as deputy US marshal, 1p, 8"x3", Apr 25, 1895. Expense voucher certifying that he had furnished subsistence for three named prisoners from Apr 22 to Apr 25. Boldly signed. Fine example. He served in the Stonewall Jackson brigade as a courier during the Civil War. He was chief agent for The Texas Express Co. and was wounded by the Sam Bass gang in a train robbery. With Bill Tilghman, Thomas cleaned up “Hell’s Half Acre,” shot Ned Christie, and with Bill Tilghman and Chris Madsen, was also one of the “Three Guardsmen” who caught the Doolin Gang, killing Bill Doolin in July 1896. He was responsible for over 300 arrests in three years, making him one of the deadliest lawmen of the West.

11. All bidding is done in a competitive manner. The
winning bid will always be one bidding increment
over the second highest bid. The minimum
acceptable bid for any lot is 50% of the low
estimate given in the item description or $25,
whichever is higher.

12. Payment is expected immediately upon receipt of
invoice. All accounts are payable to Signature
House. Payment must be made in U.S. funds. Wire
transfer details are available upon request.
West Virginia residents will pay a sales tax of
6% unless a resale number is filed with us prior
to the closing date. For sales outside of the USA
a credit card is requested.

13. Shipment is made via U.S. Postal Service or
Airborne unless otherwise instructed. Handling,
shipping and insurance charges are added to the
invoice. Oversize and foreign shipments are subject
to increased charges. All items are shipped
immediately upon receipt of payment.

14. Golden Guarantee: All material is returnable within
seven days providing that it comes back in the same
condition. There is a lifetime guarantee on
authenticity to the original purchaser. The item(s)
must be returned with two letters denying it’s
authenticity by expert authenticators acceptable
