HEINRICH HIMMLER
(1900 - 1945) Hitler's Chief of the Gestapo placed in charge of security and responsible for the construction and operation of extermination camps. He chose suicide rather than face a hangman's noose at Nuremburg. Partly-printed D.S., 4pp. 4to., Berlin, Mar. 25, 1939 a nomination form for Dr. George Vilbig as a police surgeon. Himmler approves the appointment on the first page with a bold signature. The interior of the document notes the physician's family, educational and professional background noting he was Catholic and married with three children. File holes at left with minor marginal tears, else very good condition. Postwar, Vilbig (ironically) developed the "metabolic grid", a weight-loss system.

Estimate: $500 - 600.
