Hague Professor of Music in the University of Cambridge. Book 1 [-2-3-4]. Printed and sold by Preston, circa 1815Piano and first violin parts only, watermark 1814 and 1815, engraved on title-leaf and pp 23; title-leaf and pp 24-43 ; title-leaf and pp 44-59 ; title-leaf and pp 60-79 : title-leaf and pp 15 ; title-leaf and pp 16-29 ; title-leaf and pp 29-41 ; title-leaf and pp 42-57, folio, disbound : in very good state, with the contemporary signature of William Hull in two places ALSO WITH THIS LOT: (1) RELFE ( John ). Mary's Dream or Sandy's Ghost, sung by Miss Chanu at Hanover Square Concerts, and at the Pantheon. Set to music by J. Relfe. Printed by Longman and Broderip, circa 1794. Engraved on title-page and pages 2 - 5, (1, blank, with childish biro scribble on this blank page), folio, disbound : very good BUC 885. Scored for two violins, voice and bass, with adaptations for guitar and flute on p 5. (2) KLENGEL ( August A. ). A second rondo for the piano forte … dedicated to Miss A. Pechwell … Op.14. Ptrinted by Clementi & Co., circa 1815. Watermark 1814, engraved on title-leaf and 9-pages, folio, disbound : in very good state (3) HAYDN (Franz Joseph). Trois sonates pour le clavecin, avec l'accompagnement d'un violon, & violoncello … Oeuvre 40. Printed by Lewis, Houston & Hyde, circa 1797. PF only, engraved on title-leaf and pages 2 - 33, folio, disbound : in very good state Hob.XXV/3-5. BUC 467, one copy only (LH, imperfect). Not in ESTC. (4) WATLEN ( John ). Up and war them a' Willie[.] A favourite air with variations for the piano-forte or harpsichord most respectfully dedicated to Miss Gordon of Whitehill Edinr. Printed & sold by Muir Wood & C, circa 1805. Drop-title, engraved on 3-pages, folio, disbound : in very good state. (5) WATLEN ( John ). Lady Charlotte Campbell. A favorite strathspey, with variations. As performed at the Edinburgh Concert most respectfully dedicated to Miss Mary Christie of Durie … Edinburgh printed and sold by J. Hamilton, circa 1800. Engraved on 3-pages, drop-title, folio, disbound : in very good state Also attributed to Nathaniel Gow. (6) DIBDIN ( Charles ). The Greenwich Pensioner written and composed by Mr. Dibdin for his entertainment called The Oddities[.] Printed & sold by the Author, at his music warehouse [1789]. Vocal score, drop-title, engraved on pages (1, blank), 2 - 4, with a version for guitar at end, folio, disbound : in very good state BUC 275, noting three copies : this edition not in ESTC on-line. Signed by Dibdin. (7) RAUZZINI ( Venanzio ). Cynthia. Sung by Mr. Incledon, with the greatest applause, at the concerts, Bath … Printed & sold by Preston & Son, circa 1798. Vocal score (oboe, 2 violins, viola, bassoon & pf), on 4-pp, folio, disbound : very good. BUC 875 one copy (LCM) : not in ESTC on-line but COPAC has BL copy. (8) STIASTNY ( Jan ). Six duuo pour deux violoncelles, composes et dedies a son frere Bernard Stiastny par Jean Stiastny. Partie [1 & 2]. Paris chez Janet et Cotelle … , circa 1811. Violoncello 2 part only, Plate Numbers 264 & 265, engraved on page 23 ; 23, folio, disbound : in very good state. Jan and his brother Bernard Št’astný were both outstanding cellists and teachers.
