HARVEY DUNN COWBOYS OIL PAINTING NO RESERVE!
ABSOLUTELY NO RESERVE!!!!!

OIL ON CANVAS 26'' x 36'', Harvey Dunn (1884-1952), Delaware/New Jersey. Two Cowboys on Horseback; Story Illustration. Unsigned. Included in the June 2, 2007 Illustration House Inc. auction (lot #9) overseen by Walt Reed, editor of Visions of Adventure: N.C. Wyeth and the Brandywine Artists [A Collection of Paintings by Howard Pyle, N.C. Wyeth, Harvey Dunn, Frank E. Schoonover, Philip R. Goodwin, and Dean Cornwell]. Born and raised south of Manchester in Dakota Territory to homesteaders, Dunn knew firsthand what it was like to live a frontier lifestyle. With aspirations towards becoming an artist from an early age, Dunn was fortunate to study with one of America's first and foremost illustrators, Howard Pyle. He had almost immediate success as an illustrator, painting over two hundred and fifty works for the Saturday Evening Post alone. Although Dunn relocated to the East, his favorite subjects remained the salt of the earth pioneers of the West, painted in a dramatic, but not idealized manner.

ABSOLUTELY NO RESERVE!!!
