OPUS TWO
THE STORY OF OPUS AT HARRY WINSTON'S IS THAT OF A UNIQUE ADVENTURE, LAUNCHED IN 2000. ITS OBJECTIVE is TO INTENSIFY HARRY WINSTON'S COMMITMENT TO THE FUTURE OF FINE SWISS HOROLOGY. EACH CHAPTER WOULD BE A STRICTLY LIMITED SERIES CREATED IN PARTNERSHIP WITH ONE OF SWITZERLAND'S MOST CREATIVE WATCHMAKERS, IN A TRUE
JOINT COLLABORATION. EACH OPUS HAS ITS OWN RHYTHM. WHERE OPUS ONE, DEVELOPED
IN PARTNERSHIP WITH
FRANCOIS-PAUL JOURNE IN
2001, PAID TRIBUTE TO SCIENCE,
OPUS TWO CELEBRATES THE WATCHMAKER'S ART. AND ALONG THE WAY IT HAS ACQUIRED
A MORE INTIMATE STYLE. ESSENTIALLY, IT IS ABOUT SHARED DEDICATION. IT IS THE STORY OF
A UNIQUE PERSONAL BOND BETWEEN THE HOUSE OF HARRY WINSTON AND SWITZERLAND'S MASTER SCULPTOR OF WATCH MOVEMENTS, ANTOINE PREZIUSO. THE INTERNATIONAL REPUTATION OF MR. PREZIUSO FOR HIS REFINED INTERPRETATIONS OF THE GREAT COMPLICATIONS AND THE BEAUTY HE BRINGS TO THE SMALLEST SPRING, MADE HIM THE IDEAL CHOICE FOR OPUS TWO.
The partners have created
a limited series of just
24 pieces. One watch is a tourbillon. The other, a tourbillon with a perpetual calendar on its reverse side. Twelve of each model. Both watches feature highly original openwork movements, which introduce a new form
of engraving, in a rayonné
or sunray pattern, that radiate light. These timepieces are housed in one of the most technically complex cases
that Harry Winston has ever created. The prototype of the Tourbillon was developed in 2001, setting the beginning
of the Opus Two project.
Once validated, it became
the base for the Opus Two project pieces. Crafted in 950PT platinum, this exceptional timepiece is part of this fabulous adventure with Antoine Preziuso.
The 24 pieces of the collection were reserved long in advance. So, for the first
time ever, to content one
more client, Harry Winston "Rare Timepieces" has exceptionally decided to
offer this unique prototype for auction.
