<b>1431. HARRY BLACKSTONE</b> (1885 - 1965) American magician, a pre-eminent stage magician. A fine Blackstone piece, an autograph album, 100pp. approx., with 23 pp. with signatures and inscriptions, small quarto, [numerous localities, 1936-1937] presented by the performers and crew from Harry Blackstone's travelling show to Ella Jane (Thomas) Fischer, Harry Blackstone Jr.'s tutor. The album features a fine signature of Harry Blackstone with an inscription: "<i>To Ella my son's hooptudoo Toy Try is not Chinese just plain American of the early ages Harry Blackstone 1936 @ Park Central Hotel New York City</i>". Besides many members of Blackstone's touring show, other signatories include <b>TED SELLES</b> and <b>WALTER GIBSON</b>: "<i>Best wishes to Ella from the author of `The Shadow'. Walter Gibson/Maxwell Grant</i>". Also included are a few gag inscriptions written by fellow tour members including Al Capone and James Whitcomb Riley. Spine a tad loose and rubbed, some scratching to boards, otherwise very good.<b> $200-300</b>
