HARRISON FISHER (1877-1934) American illustrator. Original illustrated poem, entitled "A Song of the Road", overall size approximately 10"X13", 32 lines. Poem reads in small part, "I must look them in the eyes, When I go home, So I'm under obligations, As I roam, To be white and clean and square, All the time and everywhere..." The poem is hand-lettered on a shield or scroll, which occupies about 1/3 of the total area. It is surrounded by a full color illustration, apparently in gouache, of a road, with tall trees on either side, and a man on the horizon. The colors suggest day's end, and is typical of 1920's graphic art. Signed in the art, "Fisher, '25", and signed in the poem with a small drawing. Light soiling and a few minor clear stains, overall VG. Framed Handsome!!! $750-1,000
