HARRIS, ISHAM
(1818 - 1897) Confederate Governor of Tennessee who fled to Mexico with a $5,000 bounty on his head at the end of the war. He also served as a volunteer on the staffs of Johnston, Beauregard, Bragg and Hood. A.L.S. "Isham Harris" on Senate Chamber letterhead, 2pp. 8vo., Washington, Apr. 28, 1880 concerning the appointment of a Mr. Figg to the position a judge in East and Middle Tennessee. Very good.
