BRONZE: A Hans Muller (Vienna, 1873-1937) bronze sculpture of a trumpeting buck elk mounted on a black marble base. He was a pupil of the sculptor, Edmund Hellmer, at the Vienna Academy of Art. Although best known for his portraits and busts, he was also known for his hunting dog and deer subjects. Much of his work is on permanent display in the Simu Museum in Bucharest, Hungary. This signed piece (signature on bronze plinth) circa 1900-1910, 10'' x 8'' excluding base.
