Confederate brigadier general in command at Brownsville, Texas, where in 1863, he saved Confederate stores and munitions valued at a million dollars from falling into the hands of Gen. Banks. ADS, 1½pp, 4to, Guadalupe County TX, Dec 10, 1856. As administrator of the estate of Mary F. Tarver, Bee composes on blue stationery “<i>Articles of Agreement</i>” between himself and James L. Dial to “<i>furnish six prime hands</i>” for the purpose of cultivating a farm, etc. Boldly penned and signed by both men. Bee signs his name four times within text and at conclusion - twice in full and twice as “<i>H. P. Bee</i>.” Full autographs of Bee are unusual. Light age toning, especially at folds; normal folds with some separations with no paper loss; o/w VG.</span></p>
