H&R Single Shot Target Pistol, USRA Model, #3719, .22 LR cal., 10'' barrel, blue finish, factory checkered walnut grips, in original blue box. Introduced in 1928 to conform with the rules of the U.S. Revolver Assn., it is estimated that approx. 3300 of these pistols were made before production ceased in 1941. Grips were produced by Walter F. Roper. Extensively reviewed in the March 1930 American Rifleman magazine, with such limited production and sparing no cost, it is unlikely that H&R ever received any profit on this finely made pistol. H&R was more concerned with establishing a reputation for a superlative single shot pistol. Condition is excellent showing light micro-scratching and minor wear at muzzle. Grips remain extremely crisp. A shooter-made filler has been added between back of triggerguard and front of gripstrap (easily removed). Bright sides of hammer and trigger show little use. Action is crisp, bore is excellent. Pre-war box with tape repairs, s!
cuffs, and discoloration; end label remains approx. 80% clear and vivid. Instructional label remains affixed inside lid. Est.: $1,000-$1,500.
