Our Assessment: This Harrington & Richardson Model 65 Reising is a semi-automatic .22 caliber training rifle which was manufactured at the end of WWII. The genesis of this gun originates with the need for a .22 caliber training rifle for the US Marine Corps as they were late recipients of the M1 Garand service rifles. In 1944, Harrington and Richardson introduced the Reising Model 65 as a training rifle for the Marine Corps, but it was only produced from 1944-45 and a limited quantity were eventually produced for commercial sales. This rifle was a commercial rifle and lacks any military markings. Aside from some light handling wear, this particular specimen is well preserved and remains mechanically sound. The rifle can be used for plinking, but more importantly, it is a WWII-era historical relic. We expect this rifle to garner a lot of collector attention, especially for those focused on .22 training rifle platforms. Please see our photos and good luck in your bidding!
