Eminent British writer (1866–1946) who pioneered the science fiction genre with such classic novels as The Time Machine, War of the Worlds, and The Invisible Man. Rare vintage glossy 8 x 10 head-and-shoulders photo, signed and inscribed in white ink “Love to Bernice Junes, H. G. Wells.” Scattered creases and surface marks to image, edge and corner tip creasing, and silvering to darker areas of image, otherwise very good condition. Wells is not commonly found in signed photos, especially 8 x 10s.
