H.G. Peter Miscellaneous Ephemera Lot #1 This lot is a boon to comic historians. It is chock full of papers that are invaluable to the collector of comic ephemera. A chance like this doesn't come around but once in a blue moon. First off we have a caricature of Peter by one Steve Douglas that measures 12" x 13". Next we have proof sheets for Peter's proposed strip Lulu of the jungle. There are four copies of one and two copies of another. Next we have the Summer 1954 issue of The Cartoonist featuring small caricatures of everybody that was a cartoonist at the time. There is a National Cartoonists Society Roster from 1950. There are also five issues of The National Cartoonists Society Newsletter , from 1956 and 1957, that are a gold mine of information about the goings on in the cartooning world at the time. We also get an 8" x 10" group photo that might show H.G. Peter but definitely does show Rube Goldberg and Milton Caniff. There is a 5.5" x 5.5" photo of a young debonair H.G. and a signed check he wrote to pay his oil bill. Last of all in this treasure trove is a brochure from the 11th Annual Reuben Award ceremony held in New York City in 1957. The next lucky owner of these items will have enough reading and data to keep them busy for quite a long time. Important notice: We expect to be auctioning lots at the rate of 200-250 per hour. Sometimes eBay Premier live bid software cannot keep up with that pace, so we strongly recommend that you place a realistic proxy bid now as insurance to avoid disappointment. Also please note that all Heritage/CAA lots purchased through eBay Premier carry a 20% Buyer's Premium. Please make sure you read the Terms and Conditions.
