Cal. 54, Barrel Length 8 ½", overall 14". An integral Ramrod is attached to a swivel device below the barrel. The side plate is stamped "US H. Aston & CO." in front of hammer, "Middtn Conn 1851" stamped on the side plate behind hammer. Inspector initials appear throughout. "JH" appears on the left side of barrel low on the flat area near the breech. “N" appears just above “JH" and a little to the left. “N" also appears on the brass just behind the rear barrel screw and on the brass flat area just ahead of the trigger guard. “H" is stamped on the brass (left side of fire arm) just ahead of the forward screw. Stamped on the wood behind the rear screw is the outline of a faint oval of the Inspectors Cartouche, initials can almost be made out. It is known that several of these ATA later date found their way into the Indian Trade. This pistol was purchased many years ago from Preston Miller’s Annual Four Winds Auction, St. Ignatius, Montana. Would rate the fire arm very good. Does not require FFL Transfer.
