Instrument pilot certificate card, 2.5 x 4, issued to Air Force 2nd Lt. Virgil I. Grissom on April 3, 1952. In part, “This is to certify that 'Grissom, Virgil L. 2nd Lt.' United States Air Force Has Met the Requirements for the INSTRUMENT PILOT CERTIFICATE (White) as Prescribed by AF Reg. 60-4. '3 April 1952.” It is signed by John A. Baret and M R Miller for the Air Force. It shows that Grissom was in the 3525th Pilot Training Wing stationed at Williams Air Force Base in Arizona with 288 hours of pilot time to date. In very good condition with rounded corners, toning, and expected wear.
