Guptas, Chandragupta II (c. 380-413 AD), Gold Dinar, 7.65g, Lion Slayer (lion trampler) type, Obverse: king wearing a dhoti, a sash flowing from his waist, shooting an arrow right into the mouth of the lion, while his left foot on the lion’s belly trampling it, and the lion with its mouth open is falling back, with traces of Brahmi legend around, Reverse: goddess Durga, nimbate, seated in profile astride a walking lion, holding diadem in left hand and long-stemmed flower in the right, with legend Simhavikrama in the right field (unrecorded in BMC, Bayana Hoard 1185, Altekar pl.
