Gumby Autographed Claymation Set
The Godfather of clay animation was Art Clokey, perhaps best known for his years of surrealistic Gumby shows. In fact, he invented the technique, and the name "Claymation", (and his estate still holds the trademark on both the name and process to this day). Here is an extremely rare set of clay puppetry from what many call the "Real" Gumby TV Series Intro used again and again for his vast series of "Gumby Adventures". In the beginning of the intro the letters spell out "Gumby Adventure". They then fold up into a ball that rolls across the screen, then pulsates, turns into a slap from which Gumby bursts out, like a cookie cutter cutout! These actual screen used balls from this intro are made of Styrofoam, with Art's specially designed green clay covering them. There are three balls: one is approximately 3.5" around, and the two others are approximately 2.5" around. The second of the smaller balls has been split in half to begin to create the slab. To add to the mystique and collectability of this treasured set, the largest ball is personally autographed by the late great Art Clokey himself. Comes with custom designed Plexiglas 8" x4" display showing both Gumby and his pal Pokey the Horse, along with the opening scene with the ball on a TV Screen. This unique piece of classic TV memorabilia also comes with a COA.
