Tostrup Was Founded In 1832 By Jacob Tostrup (1806-1890) In Christiania (now Oslo), Norway. As A Boy, Tostrup Was An Apprentice At A Local Silversmith. He Then Received A Thorough Education In All Aspects Of The Jewelery Trade While Studying Under Master Goldsmith Christopher Desingthun In Bergen. He Spent A Brief Period Of Time In Saint Petersburg, Working On Projects For The Russian Imperial Court, Before Returning To Christiania In To Establish His Own Business. It Wasn't Long Before The Business Outgrew The Small Workshop And Tostrup Relocated, Opening A Larger, Mechanized Workshop In 1838. Jacob Ulrich Holfeld Tostrup Grew Up On Captain Farm Sande In Hjelmeland. When He Was About 13 Years Old He Went To Local Silversmith Learn, For Four Years, And Then He Went To Teach At Jeweler Champion Christopher Desingthun Bergen 1823-1828.

We handle all shipping of items in house. We use our shipping rate and pass that savings on to our buyers. There will be a small handling fee for boxes and packing material that usually runs $3-$5 per box. Larger items can get expensive to ship. If you have any question please let us know. Insurance will be at the expense of the buyer. Any damage or lost items during shipping will be the responsibility of the buyer. Insurance is recommended. All items must be paid for auction day. Live bidders must pay for and remove items immediately following Sundays auction unless special arrangements have been made. Internet bidder check out days Tuesday April 25th from 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Wednesday April 26th from 9:00 to 5:30 p.m. Any items left after these days will be shipped to address provided at the buyers expense.

No statement contained in the advertisement or made orally at the sale or elsewhere shall be deemed to be such warranty or representative or an assumption of liability. All buyers should physically inspect the item prior to placing any bids. No bids can be withdrawn for any reason. The highest bidder acknowledged by the auctioneer shall be the purchaser. In the event of any dispute between bidders, the auctioneers shall have absolute discretion to either determine the successful bidder, in which event his determination shall be final, or to re-offer and resell the article in dispute.
