Partly-printed vellum DS as president, one page, 15 x 19.5, February 24, 1897. President Cleveland appoints Alexander T. Ovenshine as “Second Lieutenant of Infantry in the service of the United States.” Neatly signed at the conclusion by President Cleveland and countersigned by Secretary of War Daniel S. Lamont. The blue seal affixed to the lower left remains fully intact. In fine condition, with intersecting folds (one horizontal fold passing through Cleveland’s signature), mild soiling, and slightly trimmed edges. Accompanied by a full letter of authenticity from PSA/DNA.
