Grover Cleveland Autograph Letter Signed "Grover Cleveland", one page on his Westland imprinted letterhead, March 23, 1897. Good association letter, written shortly after leaving his second term as President, to Andrew Fleming West of Princeton University. He writes: "I have been here almost a week and have not seen you yet. How am I to get on in this way?" West had secured Cleveland's participation in Princeton's sesquicentennial celebration the preceding year, and the two formed a strong bond. West is credited with having secured the house and grounds Cleveland moved into upon leaving office; playing such an important role that Cleveland named it "Westland" in his honor. With the original transmittal envelope addressed in Cleveland's hand. The letter is in near fine condition with slight toning; the envelope, has been opened at the top and bears soiling.

Shipping: Flat Material, Small (view shipping information)
