ADS signed three times, "Grover Cleveland," one page both sides, 8.25 x 13.25, May 21, 1874. Lengthy handwritten legal document in a dispute over a cash transaction, penned in Cleveland's hand. In part: "F. M. Ingelhart being duly sworn says that on the 20th day of May 1874 he received from W. C. Bryant the sum of $51.50 in bank bills mostly composed of ten and five dollar bills and that he took the same money without separating it and delivered the same to Grover Cleveland…Grover Cleveland being sworn says that on the 20th day of May 1871 he received from F. M. Ingelhart the sum of $51.50 in bank bills which he said he had received from Wm. C. Bryant…They were sent by Chs. H. Daniels to the Manufacturers & Traders Bank for deposit and that shortly after the bank bill…was returned to deponent by said Daniels who informed deponent it was thrown out of the bank as a counterfeit." In fine condition, with light soiling to the signed side.
