Late 18th century. The first, by Gamo Hosen, a square manju showing a pair of rats raiding Daikoku's treasure bag on obverse, and single rat on the reverse. Signed on the inside, Gamo Hosen, plus kakihan. 1 3/4in (4.3cm). The second, by Nagano Yokobue, a duck, with feathers and underside mostly in gold takamakie. Signed on the underside in oval reserve, Yokobue. 6/8in (2cm). Provenance: The first, Purchased from Raymond Bushell 1957. The second, Ex Richards collection. Purchased from R. Koscherak, 1957.
