Group of Western Americana Items From Old Arizona Ranch
Property being sold is not new! Dents, dings, scratches and other damage may be present—and is common—on used and vintage items. Items are available for preview well in advance of the auction and we take several pictures as well. Please inspect thoroughly PRIOR to bidding. Once auctioneer says “SOLD” Buyer assumes all responsibility for items.
Included for sale in this lot is this group of Western Americana items from a well-known and historical old Arizona ranch. This grouping includes a pair of leather fringe gloves (gauntlets), a handmade maguey (grass type) rope and a hitched horsehair hat band. The items came from the great, great grandson of Don Alonzo Sanford (1840-1915). Sanford was a well-known Pioneer and Rancher who was known for having to defend his holdings against numerous Apache attacks before Arizona even became a state. There is historical record to this fact. After his death, the family sold the ranch in 1925 (now the guest/dude ranch known as the Z Ranch). The objects for sale have been handed down through several generations and were items originally from Don Alonzo Sanford's ranch prior to it being sold in 1925. MAKER: Unmarked. APPROX AGE: C. early 1900s. SIZE: Rope is approx 49 feet long. Hat band is 22 inches. Gloves size is small. CONDITION: Pretty good for their ages, normal wear expected. Please look closely at the pictures as they are an important part of our description and are hereby incorporated into the description, specifically with regards to condition. SHIPPING: There will be a $8 handling / packaging fee for shipping this lot. The actual cost of postage will be added on top of that. BUY IT NOW: If you would like to buy this item now, without waiting for the auction day to bid on it, we do offer this option (which is available up to 48 hours before the actual auction starts). The “Buy it Now” price is the high estimate of this lot (plus applicable fees and the Buyer's premium is discounted to 10% when using the Buy it Now option). If you would like to exercise this option, you must contact us by email (or phone as long as you talk to someone live). Reference this lot number and your intention to "Buy it Now."
