<Our item number 104343><B>Interesting Group of Revolutionary War Debt Certificates.</B> Lot of four assorted indemnity notes. <B>a.</B>&#41; Elaborately engraved five-dollar note issued to raise funds for Washington&#39;s army in Boston; by Hall & Sellers, Philadelphia, with hand and thorns, and leaf motifs, dated May 10, 1775, and signed by Samuel Meredith and Daniel Clymer; for bearer <I>&#34;to receive Five Spanish Milled Dollars or the value thereof in Gold or Silver.&#34;</I> <B>b.</B>&#41; United States Lottery Ticket; Philadelphia, November 18, 1776; a 2nd Class U.S. lottery ticket &#40;no. 2,077&#41;, entitling <I> &#34;the bearer to receive such prize as may be drawn against its number.&#34;</I> &#40;This ticket brought its owner a very respectable &#36;30.&#41; <B> c.</B>&#41; Seven-dollar note printed in two colors, a joint state and national venture issued to help Congress recapitalize some of its &#36;240 millions in outstanding currency; by Hall & Sellers, Philadelphia, dated May 5, 1780, and s igned by Thomas Daws and Richard Cranch. <B>d.</B>&#41; A manuscript note signed by John Moor, Philadelphia, dated September 2, 1780; an indemnity certifying that John Lowry has furnished the State of Pennsylvania <I>&#34;the use of the United States, with one black horse …. which has been appraised …. at the sum of forty-two pounds in specie….&#34;</I> Paper generally Very Fine or better.
