Group of Inlay Inserts – Elliot Qualo
Property being sold is not new! Dents, dings, scratches and other damage may be present—and is common—on used and vintage items. Items are available for preview well in advance of the auction and we take several pictures as well. Please inspect thoroughly PRIOR to bidding. Once auctioneer says “SOLD” Buyer assumes all responsibility for items.
Maker: Attributed to Elliot Qualo, Zuni. (Unsigned). Approx. Age: Circa 1960s. Size: Each is just over 2.5” across. Condition: Good. Additional Info: 9 total inserts. Elliot Qualo (1930-1974) was know for doing these types of inlay inserts which were then set in silver, often by him and sometimes by other silversmiths. These were probably designed for a concho belt and never finished. The dark background appears to be tortoise shell, which was banned in 1973, so these would be older than that (but still legal to own since they would have been made prior to the ban). They are set on a white plastic backing and can be easily set into a silver mounting of your choice. Please look closely at the pictures - they are an important part of our description. Shipping: There will be a $5 handling / packaging fee for shipping this lot. The actual cost of postage will be added on top of that.
