Group of 2 United States Mint Set in Original Government Packaging! From 2006-2007 with 48 Coins Inside!. Group of 2 United State Mint Set from 2006-2007 included a total of 48 coins. The 2006 Mint Set continued the use of the new satin finish that had been introduced for the product in the prior year. This year also marked the “Return to Monticello” for the Jefferson Nickel, which saw its original reverse design restored, paired with a new obverse design from Jamie Franki. Each set would include a total of 20 coins with a face value of $5.82. Satin finish examples from the Philadelphia and Denver Mints were included for the Sacagawea Dollar, Kennedy Half Dollar, Roosevelt Dime, Jefferson Nickel, and Lincoln Cent. Continuing to be a highlight of the annual coin set were the five State Quarters. The 2006 releases honored Nevada, Nebraska, Colorado, North Dakota, and South Dakota, which were the thirty-sixth to fortieth states to join the union. Packaging remained within a similar style with the coins included in four different mylar packs. Two represented coins from the Philadelphia Mint, while the other two represented coins from the Denver Mint. These were placed along with a certificate of authenticity into illustrated outer envelopes, which featured depictions of the Liberty Bell and the mountains of Colorado. Starting with the 2007 Mint Set significantly altered the packaging to coincide with the launch of the Presidential Dollars series, which had the impact of boosting the number of coins per set to 28, compared to 20 coins in the previous year. The sets were the first to include the uncirculated versions of the first four releases of the Presidential $1 Coin Program was highlighted. The Presidents depicted were George Washington, John Adams, Thomas Jefferson, and James Madison. Their portraits appeared on the obverse of each coin with a common portrayal of the Statue of Liberty on the reverse. The coin series featured incused edge lettering, which contained the date, mint mark, and the mottoes “E Pluribus Unum” and “In God We Trust”. The 2007 Mint Sets also included the next five designs released for the State Quarters Program, featuring Montana, Washington, Idaho, Wyoming, and Utah. The remaining coins were the Lincoln Cent, Jefferson Nickel, Roosevelt Dime, Kennedy Half Dollar, and Sacagawea Dollar. All coins continued to utilize the satin finish, which had been introduced for the annual set in 2005. Around this time, the US Mint began to refer to the satin finish versions as “uncirculated versions”. The sets were now packaged in two separate blister pack folders. The outer flap included illustrations of the Denver and Philadelphia skylines. Folders opened to reveal 14 coins from each mint, sealed in individual blisters which allowed both sides of the coins, as well as the edges to be seen. The back side of the flap included coin specification information and a certification of authenticity.
