Group of 2 United States Mint Set in Original Government Packaging! From 1978-1979 with 24 Coins Inside!. Group of 2 United State Mint Set from 1976-1977 included a total of 24 coins. The 1978 Mint Set contained a total of twelve coins struck at the Philadelphia and Denver Mint facilities. This set also marked the last year of the Eisenhower Dollar. Coins included in the set were arranged with the Philadelphia Mint coins in one plastic packet bordered in blue and the Denver mint coins in a separate packet bordered in red. The coin series represented were P&D Lincoln Cents, P&D Jefferson Nickels, P&D Roosevelt Dimes, P&D Kennedy Half dollars, and the aforementioned P&D Eisenhower Dollars. A new circulating coin series debuted within the 1979 Mint Set. The Susan B. Anthony Dollar issued for circulation for the first time this year and examples struck at the Philadelphia and Denver Mints were included in the annual uncirculated coin set. Although coins were also produced for circulation at San Francisco, this coin was not included within the set. Each 1979 Uncirculated Mint Set contained P&D examples of the Lincoln Cent, Jefferson Nickel, Roosevelt Dime, Washington Quarter, Kennedy Half Dollar, and Susan B. Anthony Dollar. The six coins from each mint facility were placed within sealed plastic cellophane packs. These were placed between two protective cardboard pieces and placed within an envelope marked “U.S. Mint 1979 Uncirculated Coin”.
