<B>Group Lot of Ten Confederate Generals' Autographs</B></I> consisting of: <BR><B>Wm. H Young</B></I>- Autograph card with rank and "<I>San Antonio, Texas</B></I>". <BR><B>Tyree H. Bell</B></I>- Beautiful handwritten "Special Order No. 24," written at Polk's HQ at Shelbyville, Tennessee, February 9, 1863 authorizing inspection of the horses and mules in the general supply train. Bell has endorsed it at the bottom with his (then) rank of colonel. Nice. <BR><B>Wm. E. Baldwin</B></I>- Clipped signature with his rank from war-period endorsement. Killed in service by a fall from his horse February 19, 1864 near Dog River Factory, Alabama. A scarce signature. <BR><B>Lucius M. Walker</B></I>- Clipped signature. <BR><B>John H. Winder</B></I>- Clipped signature, signed with his (then) rank of lieutenant dated 1823. One of the oldest Confederate generals (born 1800), he commanded the notorious Libby Prison. <BR><B>Elisha F. "Bull" Paxton</B></I>- A very scarce autograph. Paxton was part of the famed Stonewall Brigade. Killed on the first day of Chancellorsville, he was buried in the yard of the house where Jackson died shortly thereafter. <BR><B>Peter B. Starke</B></I>- Clipped signature from a ward-dated document, November 13, 1862. <BR><B>Thomas B. Smith</B></I>- Autograph card with rank. <BR><B>James Deshler</B></I>- Clipped signature with his (then) rank of lieutenant in the U.S. Army. Killed in action at Chickamauga. Very scarce. <BR>Preston Smith<B></B></I>- Clipped signature.
