For your bidding consideration is this complete, in-the-box "No. 3 Griswold Patty Combination Set" (cast iron), together with a recipe and suggestions. Griswold Manufacturing was a company that was founded in Erie, Pennsylvania in 1865, making cast iron products for the home. The company was at its zenith in the late 1920;s, though the 1930's; they had gained a reputation for high quality cast iron cookware, which was sold world wide. Eventually the company was bought out by another manufacturer and the plant in Erie was closed in 1957. Although Griswold Manufacturing had expanded into additional product offerings, it is their cast iron cookware pieces that are sought out and considered collector's items. This set comes with four pattern irons (two shallow and 2 deep), four threaded handles (which thread into the irons), and a small cast iron bowl with a handle. This is a complete set with no missing pieces. One of the handles looks to be a replacement, as it is somewhat different from the others. The original box is in good condition with the original advertising still intact. The box measures 13.5" x 7" x 3" tall.
