Hand-colored engraved frontispiece and eleven hand-colored copperplate engravings. Offered as an elaborate morality lesson for boys, based on chivalric ideals. Various parts of a suit of armor are illustrated on small flaps which, when raised, reveal character traits of great virtue. <BR><BR>Full polished calf, banded gilt spine with contrasting leather labels, gilt dentelles and marbled endpapers. All page edges are gilded. Former owner's bookplate on initial pastedown. Slight rubbing to spine tail, else very fine.
