Greta Garbo set of three datebooks from 1978, 1980 and 1989. Known as fiercely protective of her privacy, the actress here succinctly details her daily personal life. Highlights from the 1978 datebook include handwritten appointments and a few addresses, one in Columbia, written on the endpapers. She hand writes notes in pencil for almost every week of the year, most for social engagements such as ''Cecile 3'', ''Lilian Back'' and ''Hirschfeld Back'', and for various trips she took, including a trip to Zurich and multiple visits to Los Angeles. Miscellaneous notes include one to ''Start Pills'' on Thursday July 20. The 1980 datebook contains a few meetings and notes, including ''Tony's Birthday'', a trip to LAX, ''Skin Doctor'' and other notes most likely in Swedish, her native tongue. The 1989 datebook includes one entry, ''Herlbut 2'' and is from the Herald Tribune with her initials monogrammed ''GG'' to cover. This datebook was purportedly a gift from Walter Thayer, Garbo's friend, neighbor and the president and publisher of the Herald Tribune. 1978 datebook measures 2.5'' x 4; 1980 datebook measures 2.75'' x 4''; 1989 datebook measures 3'' x 5''. Near fine condition. From the estate auction of Greta Garbo by Julien's Auctions.
