<B>Greta Garbo Cigarette Holder and Hat.</B></I> Alistair Cooke called Great Garbo "every man's harmless fantasy mistress. She gave you the impression that, if your imagination had to sin, it could at least congratulate itself on its impeccable taste." The elusiveness of Garbo (1905-1990), who ranks #5 on the American Film Institute's Greatest Screen Legends list, was as famous as her beauty and stardom, and very rarely do genuine Garbo artifacts become available. Here are two, housed in one attractive display: Garbo's personal ivory cigarette holder, approximately 4" long with a filigree of flowers carved on the stem, and the lady's black-and-silver-colored hat. Also featured is an 8" by 10" original still of Garbo from <I>Conquest</B></I> (1937). The impressive display measures 16" x 20" in a black metal frame with a glass front cover, and the items are set against a light green matte. This wonderful lot assuredly evokes classic Hollywood glamour and comes from the collection of Ann Sothern, who joined MGM in 1939, the year Garbo starred in <I>Ninotchka.</B></I> In Excellent condition. <I>From the Ann Sothern Estate.
