Gremlins 2: The New Batch (1990) - Original Background Gremlin Puppet
Original full-sized hand puppet prop used in the production of the 1990 horror fantasy film Gremlins 2: The New Batch. The magical collectibles store that Gizmo calls home has just been destroyed, and the tiny monster finds his way into a newly erected skyscraper. Billy Peltzer (Zach Galligan) and his bride-to-be, Kate (Phoebe Cates), who have previously dealt with Gremlins run amok, discover that Gizmo and an impish legion of reptilian pals are inhabiting the downtown building. The couple tries to stop the creatures from escaping into New York City, but this new batch of beasts might be uncontrollable.

These full-sized puppets were created by Cinovation Studios under effects master Rick Baker for the second installment of the Gremlins franchise. This piece was brought to life on screen by a puppeteer who controlled the movement of the Gremlin with his hand. This item features a foam latex construction with a dense foam base and has been painted green with hues of yellow and brown detailing around the body. The Gremlin features resin teeth and eyes and shows signs of wear in the form of small cracks and dents in the foam latex. This piece remains in excellent, production-used condition. This lot is accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity from Studio Auctions.
