Cert. #186, issued in 1907 for 500 shares to J. Oberndorfer and signed by company officers (ill.) Inc. in Arizona Territory. Location of mines: Greenwater, Inyo County, California printed on the top of the certificate. The company held 6 claims at Greenwater adjoining the Furnace Creek Copper Co. showing a gossan up to 40’ wide giving assays of 3.6 to 37.9% copper. The copper frenzy at Greenwater was such that George Graham Rice deemed it “the monumental mining-stock swindle of the century” Over a quarter of a billion dollars of stock were sold by the Greenwater operators but when all was said and done, only one mine recorded production amounting to exactly $2,625.09 (Lingenfelter, Death Valley and the Amargosa).Another scarce Greenwater certificate in excellent, Uncancelled condition.
