The jet-black cover's composition is incredibly powerful and heralded one of DC's most popular titles of the 1940s. Currently ranked 16th in Overstreet's Top Golden Age Comics list, this milestone issue from 1941 has been gaining in popularity and value in recent years. Artist Martin Nodell and writer Bill Finger created Green Lantern in 1940, and the exciting character debuted in All-American Comics #16 in the July issue of that year. The Emerald Avenger would take a hiatus during the 1950s, only to be swept up in DC's Silver Age revival and revamping during the 1960s. The predominantly black cover readily shows wear and tear, but this copy's imperfections are mostly along the perimeter of the book. Moreover, the back cover is really sharp. An impressive book to behold, considering that Gerber lists this issue as "scarce." Now is your chance to acquire this DC key.
