A Greek robed Tanagra terracotta female figure, c. 3rd Century BC, wearing chiton and himation, her features pleasant and her hair styled back in wide ridges and coiled into a tight bun at the nape of her neck. She stands in contrapposto position, her right hand clutches the folds of her chiton, her left hand out from her side. H: 5 1/8 in (13.1cm). An attractive figure with good style and traces of the original pigment over the white slip, mineral deposits throughout. Ex South German private collection of an artist and art collector, purchased between 1960 to 1980.
