Great Western frontier set including a Colt Model 1851 Navy revolver, cut-down leather holster marked “_orhr, Maker, Atchison, Kansas” with old leather belt, serpentine engraved metal belt buckle, hand made un-marked bowie knife with leather scabbard. The gun is .36 cal., 7-1/2” octagon barrel, blue and case hardened finish, wood grips, #87267. This gun is in overall good condition showing a dark patina with scattered erosion and pin prick pitting, clear markings, good action, bore should clean to good, pleasing patina to brass straps, good grips with some wear and scattered small mars from carry and storage; all matching visible serial numbers except the rammer that is numbered “6782; classic period replaced silver blade front sight and base. The holster is well-worn and dry but shows the majority of its maker’s stamping; the belt is worn and dry and separated into several pieces that deserve careful professional conservation; the belt buckle parts are classic cast and engraved in the style of the 1850’s to 1860’s; the unmarked scabbard for the hand made knife is worn and not maker marked; the hand forged knife is unmarked and approx. 15” overall with a 10” blade; it has an integrated grip and cross guard and the top grip is partially wrapped in an old knotted fabric with tassels at the pommel. This rig has a great look and could have been the property of anyone from a buffalo hunter to a lawman, outlaw or frontiersman. Est.: $2,500-$5,000.
