Single Action, .45 Colt caliber, 5 1/2” barrel, blue finish, faux two-piece stag grips. All original, excellent bore, excellent mechanically, 1955 manufacture, S/N GW7521. The Great Western Arms Co. was founded in 1953 in Los Angeles to make an American made copy of the famous and popular Colt Single Action, the most recognizable of the cowboy guns. Colt had discontinued the single action, and the movie and television industry was in need of these type of revolvers. One of the first owners was Audie Murphy. Not only was Roy a fan of these revolvers, but also John Wayne and other western stars.
