Featured in this lot are five, Great Northern Railway single calendars with artwork done by Adolph Heinze from 1929. Adolph Heinze (1887 – 1958) was born in Chicago, Illinois on February 5, 1887. He was a student of Karl Albert Buehr, Grant, Snell and later, with William Merritt Chase in New York. He was a member of the Painters and Sculptors of Chicago, the Chicago Gallery Association and the All-Illinois Society of Fine Arts. These single calendars were from a full calendar but this lot only features the months of January, February, March, April & June of 1929. The art featured on these calendars are as follows: Rising Wolf Mountain - Glacier National Park, Two Medicine Lake & Mt. Rockwell - Glacier National Park, Looking East From Cut Bank Pass - Glacier National Park, Going To The Sun Mountain & Chalets - Glacier National Park and Many Glacier Hotel at Lake McDermott - Glacier National Park. Each calendar features the "Great Northern" logo with the mountain goat image set in the center. They each feature a different slogan on the right hand side. Four are set on poster board and shrink wrapped to preserve its condition. They show good condition overall with slight wear present from their age and use over the years but no major signs of damage is noted.
