This is a Great Lakes Native American Indian Pipe Tomahawk from the second to third quarter of the 19th century. The tomahawk has a forged iron head with deep bowl, a gently tapered haft showing a beautifully striped and richly patina Tiger Maple wood having an Ivory mouth piece and Ivory clean out plug. Exceedingly rare Ivory accents. Provenance: From a large Native American Indian private collection in Iowa. This is the finest museum quality from the large collection. The piece shows well preserved museum quality very good condition and displays very well. The Ivory included in this piece is over 140-180 years old. Measures overall 20 1/8"L with a 7.5"L x 2.25"W x 1"D forged iron head.
