Great Guy (Grand National, 1936). Title Lobby
Great Guy (Grand National, 1936). Title Lobby Card (11" X 14"). James Cagney had made it clear to Jack Warner a number of times that he didn't like the films he was being assigned to and threatened to quit. He finally made good on his word, and in 1936, went over to rival independent studio Grand National. Edward L. Alperson, the studio's head, certainly was delighted and thought Cagney was a "Great Guy." The posters and lobbies for Grand National's productions were almost always colorful and brilliantly designed and this title card is certainly all of that. It has a very minor ding to the upper right corner and a bit of very slight smudging in the right edge.
