Great Falls Breweries Select & Bock Beer Bottles
For your consideration is this Great Falls Breweries Bottles: Great Falls Select and Bock Beer bottles with original Great Falls metal caps. There are two bottles in this collection with good examples of Bock Beer from Great Falls, Montana Breweries and Great Falls Select from Great Falls Breweries. Great Falls Brewing, also known as Great Falls Select, opened in 1933 right after prohibition and every minute 92 bottles were filled being capped, producing 44,000 bottles a day. Founded by Emil Sick, the brewery began with the purchase of the interests of the Montana Brewing Company and the American Brewing Company, two Great Falls firms dating from the 1890s that had been closed by Prohibition. Mr. Sick continued the operation until 1949 when he sold the property to local interests. It was again sold in 1966 to Blitz-Weinhard Company of Portland, Oregon, which continued operations until September, 1968 when severe economic conditions forced the closure of the Great Falls plant. At the time of its closing, the Great Falls operation was the last operating brewery in the four state area of Montana, Idaho, North Dakota, and Wyoming. The condition of these bottles is good with no obvious signs of damage with some patina from wear and age.
The measurements of these quart size bottles 11 1/2" x 3" for both bottles.
