<B>Great Ethiopian Songs Sheet Music by Black Writer</B></I> Exceptionally graphic with a rich scene of a church meeting and angels who appear in typical period illustrations of African Americans. This piece, written by James A. Bland, a noted Black songwriter of the period, is titled "In the Evening by the Moonlight". Bland, a Howard University graduate, wrote 700 titles in his lifetime and was most famous for "Carry Me Back to Old Virginny", which became the Virginia state song after some modification.
