Great Depression of 1930s. Two relics
Great Depression of 1930's. Two relics of the worst business era in American history: 1) Broadside, "NRA Member U.S. - We Do Our Part." Blue and red, 11 x 14 board. This example apparently from a store or larger association. Smaller versions were delivered to homes and apartments across America for citizens to display in windows, as part of F.D.R.'s National Recovery Act, bringing a spirit of hope. Two minor edge tears, corners damaged. 2) CCC Official Annual book, 1937, for 2nd Corps (Schenectady, N.Y. area), Civilian Conservation Corps, 195 pp. Part of Roosevelt's recovery program was this solution to relieve unemployment among young men, giving them work that would aid the country as well as the enrollees. The personnel and achievements are pictured in more than 1,000 photos. Soft cover. Edge and cover wear, contents about fine.
