Great Central Railway Appleton's Patent 3-aspect HANDLAMP, the body bearing a huge copper plate "GCR 7055 GUNNESS" and stamped "GCR". It also bears a rectangular brass plate stamped "Appleton's 1563C Patent". The brass top propeller is stamped "Appletons Patent". A GCR (stamped) vessel, LMS brass/ceramic burner and reflector. Gunness station opened in 1869 between Scunthorpe and Althorpe. It was renamed "Gunness And Burringham" and closed in 1916. An astonishing survivor!
